Gáldar

Located in the north of Gran Canaria, Gáldar is a small cozy authentic village. It is built among barren volcanic hills. Stroll through narrow streets and soak up the culture. Visit the archaeological museum Cueva Pintada to admire ancient wall paintings.

A church can be found at the central square Plaza de Santiago. Diagonally opposite are two local authentic bars, where beer, wine and tapas take center stage.

Nice to know:

  • On Sundays there is a market where many local products are for sale, such as vegetables and local cheese.
  • On Thursdays there is a market from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. that sells not only local produce, but also clothing and sunglasses.
