In the central square are several historic buildings. The houses have different colors and all contain a typical Canarian balcony. That is why the place is also called the \"Balcony City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Virgin Mary appeared in the 15th century and she has been the island's patron saint ever since. The Basilica de Nuestra Se\u00f1ora del Pino houses a statue of Mary from 1481. An annual pilgrimage is organized to the basilica to honor her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nice to know:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In 1979, the city was declared a historical heritage site.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A local market is held every Sunday: highly recommended!<\/li>\n<\/ul>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Teror is het mooiste dorp van het eiland.
